“Breathing in Confinement”: At dawn on Monday, January 6, the death sentences of at least two prisoners who had been arrested and convicted of “rape” were carried out in Mahabad Prison.
According to “Breathing in Confinement,” the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on the morning of Monday, January 6, two prisoners were executed in Mahabad Prison on charges of “rape.” The identities of the prisoners have been confirmed as Ali Atin and Seyyed Reza Seyyedi.
As reported by “Breathing in Confinement,” Ali Atin, the son of Mohammad Amin, unmarried and a resident of Rabat, a town near Sardasht, and Seyyed Reza Seyyedi, the son of Seyyed Gader, married and the father of four children from the village of Koulseh Sofla near Sardasht, were arrested in a joint case in 2021 on charges of “rape.” The sentences were carried out at dawn on Monday, January 6, in Mahabad Prison.
