According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, a prisoner was hanged in Gachsaran Prison. The identity of this prisoner, Valiollah Avazpour, has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.
Valiollah Avazpour, a native of Gachsaran, had previously been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. He had been transferred to solitary confinement the previous day, where he had his final visit with his family. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, in Gachsaran Prison.
