Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Saturday, March 1, 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted of “murder” was carried out in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd).

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a female prisoner was executed in Isfahan Prison on the morning of Saturday, March 1, 2025. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Nasrin Barani.

According to Breathing in Confinement, citing the human rights organization Hengaw, Nasrin Barani, a 29-year-old from Isfahan, was arrested four years ago for allegedly murdering her former husband and was sentenced to death. Reports indicate that after her divorce, she had remarried but committed the murder due to persistent harassment from her former spouse.

The execution was carried out at dawn on Saturday, March 1, in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd).
