Breathing in Confinement: Four prisoners, sentenced to death for murder in different prisons, were saved from execution after being pardoned by the blood owners.

An inmate in Mehriz Prison in Yazd, who had previously been sentenced to death for murder, was reported, saved from execution with the consent of the victim’s parents.

 

In addition, according to Rokna News Agency, a prisoner in South Khorasan, who was sentenced to death 12 years back for killing a woman, was saved from execution. He was forgiven by the woman’s family, concurrently when the death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court.

In another report from South Khorasan, Rokna News Agency announced that a prisoner was pardoned by the victim’s family and saved from death in front of the gallows!

Finally, on Monday, July 13, 2020, in Junqan prison in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, a prisoner being pardoned by the victim’s family, was released from execution after 5 years in jail. According to Rokna, the prisoner had been arrested for killing a family friend in a fight between the two families, and he was saved from death with the consent of the blood owners.
