At dawn on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted of murder was carried out at Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed early this morning, Wednesday, 14 May, in Shiraz Prison. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Hadi Soleimani.
According to the report, Hadi Soleimani, aged 18 and from Marvdasht, was underage at the time of the alleged murder and had remained imprisoned until reaching the age of 18. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 14 May, in Shiraz Prison.
As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.
Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
