Increase in the Number of Executed Prisoners in Adel Abad Prison, Shiraz, to Three

Nafas Dar Ghafas: At dawn on Sunday, October 13, 2024, the execution of at least three prisoners on charges of “murder” and drug-related offenses was carried out in Adel Abad Prison, Shiraz.
According to Nafas Dar Ghafas, the news agency of the League for the Human Rights of Iranian Prisoners, three prisoners were executed at dawn on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Shiraz Central Prison.
Previously, the executions of two prisoners, identified as Ali Shirvani and Farhad Soleimani, had been reported and revealed by Nafas Dar Ghafas. The identity of the third prisoner, who was executed alongside these two, has been confirmed as Hossein Heidari.
Hossein Heidari had been previously arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.
As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.
According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 848 citizens were executed in 2023. Of these, 7 were executed in public. 57 percent of the executions were for drug related charges.
