Breathing in Confinement — The death sentences of at least two prisoners, who had previously been arrested and convicted on charges of “murder,” were carried out at Qezel Hesar Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 December 2025, two prisoners were executed by hanging at Qezel Hesar Prison. The identities of the executed prisoners have been confirmed as Mohammad Mahdi Adavi and Ebrahim Alizadeh.
Mohammad Mahdi Adavi, the son of Khosrow, was originally from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and a resident of Qarchak. He had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder.”
Ebrahim Alizadeh, 23 years old, also a resident of Qarchak, had likewise been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder.”
Their executions were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at Qezel Hesar Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
