Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least two prisoners who had been arrested on drug-related charges were carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Sunday, 5 October 2025, two prisoners were hanged in Shiraz Prison. Their identities — Mohammad Soltanpour and Jahanbakhsh Rakhshani — have been verified by Breathing in Confinement.
Mohammad Soltanpour, from Shiraz, and Jahanbakhsh Rakhshani, a Baluch citizen, had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Their sentences were carried out at dawn on Sunday, 5 October 2025, in Shiraz Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
