Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least four prisoners who had been arrested on drug-related charges were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, at dawn on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, four prisoners were hanged in Ghezel Hesar. Their identities — Seyed Mahmoud Hosseini, Bahman Shah-Hosseini, Younes Shahbazi, and Ali (surname unknown), known as “Ali Siah” — have been verified.
Seyed Mahmoud Hosseini and Bahman Shah-Hosseini, both from Eslamshahr, had previously been arrested in a joint case on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Younes Shahbazi, from Bagh-Azari, Tehran, and Ali “Siah”, from Tehran, had been arrested in separate cases on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Their sentences were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
