Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Monday, 5 May 2025, the death sentence of a prisoner convicted of “murder” was carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the execution took place early Monday morning in Shiraz Central Prison. The identity of the prisoner, Mohsen Raeisi, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
According to the report, Mohsen Raeisi had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder.” The sentence was carried out at dawn on Monday, 5 May 2025, in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
