Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Thursday, January 9, 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder,” was carried out in Ganaveh Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League of Iran, a prisoner was executed in Ganaveh Prison early Thursday morning on charges of “murder.” The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Peyman Bahmanyari by Breathing in Confinement.
As reported by a correspondent from Breathing in Confinement, based on information from a reliable source, Peyman Bahmanyari, son of Keram and a resident of Bahmanyari village in the Central District of Ganaveh, was arrested 13 years ago following an altercation that accidentally led to a death. He was later sentenced to death and executed at dawn on Thursday, January 9, in Ganaveh Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
