Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Saturday, February 15, 2025, the execution of at least one prisoner who had been arrested on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death was carried out in Birjand Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed in Birjand Prison on the morning of Saturday, February 15, 2025. The identity of the prisoner, Mohammad Raei, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Based on reports received by Breathing in Confinement, Mohammad Raei, a resident of Mureshk village, had been arrested three years ago on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Saturday, February 15, in Birjand Central Prison.
As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.
Annual Report on Executions in Iran
