Breathing in Confinement: The death sentence of at least one prisoner, who had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offences and sentenced to death by the judiciary, has been carried out in Isfahan Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was hanged in Isfahan Prison in mid-April 2026. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Amir Mohammadi Jouqabad.
According to the report, Amir Mohammadi Jouqabad had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offences and was sentenced to death by the judiciary. He was the cousin of Peyman Mohammadi, who was executed in the same prison on 3 May this year.
