Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Thursday, November 21, a prisoner sentenced to death on charges related to “drug offenses” was executed in Shahr-e Kord Prison.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least one prisoner was executed at dawn on Thursday, November 21, in Shahr-e Kord Prison for drug-related offenses. The identity of the prisoner, Majid Jafari, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.

As reported by Breathing in Confinement, Majid Jafari, son of Yadollah, from Hafshejan, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related charges. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, November 21, in Shahr-e Kord Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
