Breathing in Confinement – At dawn on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, the death sentences of at least two prisoners who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to “drug offences” were carried out at Karaj Central Penitentiary.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were executed early this morning at Karaj Central Penitentiary. Their identities have been confirmed as Amir Ebrahimi and Rahim Amiri.
According to the report, Amir Ebrahimi, a resident of Harsin, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related offences. Rahim Amiri, originally from Nourabad and residing in Harsin, was arrested five years ago on similar charges and also sentenced to death. The executions were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at Karaj Central Penitentiary.
