Breathing in Confinement – The death sentences of at least two prisoners who had been arrested and convicted of “murder” were carried out in Gonbad-e Kavus Prison.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, in the early hours of Wednesday, 29 October 2025, two prisoners were hanged in Gonbad Prison. The identities of these prisoners, Mohammad Toghderi and Milad (Amin) Koobesh, have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.
Both Mohammad Toghderi and Milad (Amin) Koobesh, residents of Chay Qushan Bozorg village in the suburbs of Gonbad-e Kavus, had been arrested in a joint case on charges of “murder” and sentenced to death. Breathing in Confinement had reported the execution of Mohammad Toghderi yesterday. The sentences were ultimately carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, in Gonbad-e Kavus Prison.

Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
