Breathing in Confinement — At least one prisoner convicted of murder was executed by hanging at Shiraz Central Prison (Adel Abad).
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the execution was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 27 August 2025. The prisoner has been identified as Hassan Safarian, from Karuni village (Shiraz).
Safarian had previously been arrested on a murder charge and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on 27 August 2025.
