During the nationwide protests, violations of human rights in Iran have intensified.
Using firearms to confront unarmed protesters is a gross violation of human rights. The authorities of the Islamic Republic have killed a large number of children on the streets of Iran.
The human rights violations happened on the streets recorded by the statistics centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, will be published later in another report “Uprising in Iran”.
Execution
Concurrently with the killings on the streets as well as widespread arrests and beatings of protesters, executions are ongoing by the Islamic Republic.
Sentencing the arrested protestors to death and accusing them of crimes that the detainees refuse to plead guilty of even in their forced confessions are among the crimes that the government has committed against citizens. Following a short trial judiciary of the Islamic Republic has issued death sentences for at least 6 detainees.
According to the statistics centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 43 people were executed in different prisons during the past month. Among them, 29 were executed on the charge of “drug-related offences” and 10 prisoners for “murder”. During the last month, the authorities of the Islamic Republic executed 4 political prisoners under the pretext of the killing of police officers.
Most of the prisoners who were executed for “drug-related” charges were Baloch citizens who were hanged in the cities of Zahedan, Shiraz, Zabol and Mashhad.
The authorities of the Islamic Republic continue to perform secret executions with out of 43 executed prisoners, only 3 were announced by the state media. And 40 others have been recorded by human rights activists inside Iran. An extremely high-risk act in particular during the widespread suppression of the protests in the country.
Flogging sentences
In the past month, Branch 101 of Sardasht Criminal Court 2, sentenced two protesters, Aram Tobekar and Shahriar Hasanpour, to a total of 148 lashes on charges of participating in protests, throwing stones, and creating commotion. The flogging sentences are in addition to their sentence of 8 months in prison.
Prison sentences
During the past month, at least 27 civil activists, workers, teachers and a number of protesters have been sentenced to a total of 81 years and 3 days of imprisonment. Some of these activists have already been arrested and taken to prison to serve their sentences.
Arrest warrants
During the past month, concurrently with the nationwide protests, the statistics centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran has verified the identity of at least 875 detainees. The figure is only a small part of the arrested protesters, the real number of arrested protesters is reportedly hundreds of times higher than the registered cases. However, due to the atmosphere of terror and widespread repression in Iran, the families of the detainees are not able to announce the arrest of their loved ones. In addition, in many cases the responsible authorities refuse to answer the families about the status of their kidnapped family members.
According to the reports, in the past few days, during the protests in Golpayegan, at least 30 protesters have been arrested on the streets, most of whom were children under the age of 18. After being released, one of the arrested protesters told the reporter of “Breathing in Confinement” that a large number of detainees were transferred to Isfahan Detention Centre, and very few who were not involved in the protests were held at the police station on Salman Farsi Boulevard Police Office in Golpayegan to be released on bail.”
In another report from the city of Golpaygan, a girl was kidnapped by plainclothes forces occupying a Navy-blue coloured Peugeot 405. No one knows the girl’s identity or her whereabouts.
One of the crimes that the Islamic Republic repeatedly commits is the kidnapping of citizens, especially girls and women on the streets.
