Breathing in Confinement: On September 6, 2021, after completing his leave period, Kianoosh Aslani, an activist from Azerbaijan Province, returned to Evin Prison. He was sent on leave on August 15 this year with a deposit of 350 million Tomans bail.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the activist from Azerbaijan Province, Kianoosh Aslani returned to Evin Prison at the end of his leave.

 

Mr. Aslani was arrested on February 20, 2019 in Tehran’s Enghelab Square for distributing leaflets honoring the International Mother Language Day. He was later sentenced by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran to five years in prison on charges of “conspiracy to disrupt national security as well as propaganda activities against the regime.”

 

Kianoosh Aslani is a master student in civil engineering at Islamic Azad University of Tehran.
