Ebrahim Firoozi detained while in exile and transferred to Chabahar prison

Breathing in Confinement, February 10, 2021: On Monday, February 8, 2021, Ebrahim Firoozi, a Christian convert who is serving his exile, after being summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Rusk, was arrested and transferred to the Chabahar Prison. The reason for his arrest and his whereabouts is yet to be known.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on February 8, 2021, Ebrahim Firoozi, after being summoned to the Rusk Courthouse, was arrested and transferred to Chabahar Prison.
On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Ebrahim Firoozi, the Christian convert who is serving his exile in the City of Rusk, Sistan, and Balochistan Province, was summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Sarbaz city. After appearing in court, however, he was arrested and transferred to prison. The reason for summoning him was said to be “propaganda in favor of dissident groups or organizations.”
After 7 years of imprisonment, on November 22, 2019, Ebrahim Firoozi was sent to the city of Rusk, to serve his 2-year exile sentence. In the next year in May, Mr. Firoozi was retried by Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Mohammad Reza Amouzad, for so-called “being absent from the exile”, and was sentenced to another eight months in exile to be served in the City of Sarbaz. It should be noted that three months of his exile sentence have been considered as absenteeism and in fact, a total of 11 months was added to his sentence.
