Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, following a raid on her home, Maryam Karimbeigi was arrested by security agents.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iranian, Maryam Karimbeigi, the sister of Mustafa Karimbeigi, one of the protesters killed in the 2009 nationwide protests, was arrested after security forces raided her home.
According to Shahnaz Akmali, Maryam Karimbeigi’s mother, security agents raided their home at 7 am, arrested Maryam and confiscated some of Ms. Karimbeigi’s personal belongings.
In addition to being expelled from the university, Maryam Karimbeigi had been interrogated several times before.
