Prison sentence for two lawyers in Tehran

Breathing in Confinement: Mohammad Seifzadeh and Marzieh Nikara, two lawyers, were each sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League, in Iran these two lawyers were each sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.
Mohammad Seifzadeh and Marzieh Nikara were sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran headed by Judge Seyed Ali Mazloum for propaganda activities against the regime and spreading lies.
In an audio file, Mohammad Seifzadeh said that he had not received the verdict and that he did not appear in the hearing as he believes that the Revolutionary Courts are illegal.
Mr. Seifzadeh said that this sentence has been issued because of a letter he had written to the UN Secretary General.
