Breathing in Confinement – At least seven protest gatherings were held by different groups of people in various cities across the country.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, applicants for the Ministry of Education’s recruitment exam from various cities gathered in front of the Administrative and Recruitment Organisation building. They protested against unfulfilled promises, discrimination, and special privileges granted to certain groups, demanding the removal of the “employee coefficient” from the exam results—a factor which, they said, deprived many high-scoring candidates of employment in the education system.

A group of SAIPA car pre-purchasers gathered in front of the company’s sales office in Karaj. Protesters objected to delays in the delivery of their cars and the authorities’ failure to respond.

Medical and hospital equipment workers in Tabriz gathered in front of the city’s University of Medical Sciences, protesting the non-payment of their claims. They declared that delayed payments from hospitals, coupled with rising exchange rates and the pressure of sanctions, had left them facing serious financial losses and economic hardship.

Workers of the National Steel Group of Ahvaz staged a sit-in for the eighth consecutive day in front of the company’s management building. Their demands included immediate payment of overdue wages, settlement of social insurance debts, provision of supplementary insurance, and transparency in contracts with the insurance provider.

Farmers from 15 villages in Poldasht gathered to protest being deprived of their water rights and the transfer of water from Karamabad Dam to Sho’t County without consideration of their legal share. According to the farmers, this action has dried up their fields and destroyed their crops.

Workers of Ghadir Steel in Bahabad went on strike due to four months of unpaid wages.

A group of citizens in Delgan gathered to protest fuel shortages and unfair distribution. Protesters stated that only those with connections or special acquaintances could obtain subsidised fuel, while other drivers were forced to buy petrol at the free-market rate.
