Breathing in Confinement – At least six protest gatherings were held by different groups across the country.
Staff of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) in the Bahregan operational area protested over incomplete wage payments, pay discrimination, inflation and rising costs, the failure to implement pay equalisation, and plans to outsource the oil industry’s health services to the private sector. Their demands also included full implementation of operational-zone allowances, removal of the salary cap, full payment of years-of-service benefits, cancellation of pension deductions, reimbursement of unlawfully deducted taxes, and full implementation of Article 10 of the Law on the Duties and Powers of the Ministry of Oil.
In Jam County, Bushehr Province, residents of Behrbagh village gathered over a severe shortage of drinking water, calling for urgent action to restore supply.
In Yazd, applicants in the 352-unit Danesāy National Housing Project assembled at the project site to protest the failure to deliver their units on time and the prolonged delays in implementation.
In Neshlaj (Niasar), Kashan, residents protested the destructive activities of the Niasar mine, stressing the threat to public health and the negative impact on agriculture and local water resources.
In Andimeshk, daily-wage municipal workers gathered to protest the lack of insurance coverage and denial of statutory benefits, calling for their most basic labour rights.
In Dezful, a group of farmers and tractor owners rallied outside the governor’s office, demanding fuel quotas for agricultural machinery—a shortage that has severely disrupted their daily work and livelihoods.
