Breathing in Confinement – Ahmad Zeidabadi and Asghar Ghatan, political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, Karaj, have been sent for leave.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, today 22nd July, these two political prisoners of ward 12 Rajai Shahr prison, Karaj, were sent for leave.
Ahmad Zeidabadi is an Iranian reformist journalist and political analyst that following the presidential election events in 2009 has been sentenced to six years in prison, five years in exile, in Gonabad,lifelong deprivation of participating in any political activity and political parties and supporting parties, lectures, interviews, and analyzing events in written or verbal.
He is a board member of Iranian Journalists Guild (Union Association).
Asghar Ghatan suffers from several diseases including cancer, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, heart failure and kidney disease, and had many times serious health condition in prison. He needs immediate surgery for gastric cancer treatment.
The political prisoner who spent 6 years in prison in 80s and was released in 1991, has been charged of relationship with opposition groups and sentenced to 5 ½ years in prison and has been held in prison since 2010.
