Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Behrad Ali Kanari, a rap singer, was arrested and transferred to Qom prison to serve his 6-month prison sentence on charges of “collaborating with hostile media to promote propaganda against the regime.
According to “Breathing in Confinement,” a human rights organization for Iranian prisoners, Behrad Ali Kanari, the rapper, announced in a video clip that after the finalization of his 6-month prison sentence issued by the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court, he would turn himself in to the Qom Revolutionary Court on Saturday, August 24, to serve the sentence.
Behrad Ali Kanari was previously arrested during the nationwide uprising of 2022 for participating in the memorial ceremony for Hadis Najafi and was later released on bail.
