Court of Appeals confirms the one-year imprisonment sentence for Samaneh Asghari

Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the one-year imprisonment sentence of Samaneh Asghari, a student of Kharazmi University, was confirmed by the Court of Appeals in Tehran.

According to “Breathing in Confinement,” the news organ of the Prisoners’ Right League in Iran, Samaneh Asghari, a student of Kharazmi University, has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment.

Based on a verdict issued by Branch 36 of the Court of Appeals in Tehran on Saturday, February 10, and notified to Ms. Asghari, she has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
Samaneh Asghari, a student of Kharazmi University, had previously been sentenced to one year of imprisonment by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court.

Samaneh Asghari was arrested by security forces at her home in Tehran on Thursday, September 14, 2023, and was released on Thursday, October 4, with bail from Qarchak Prison in Varamin.
