Death Row Prisoner Transferred to Solitary Confinement in Central Isfahan Prison Ahead of Execution

Breathing in Confinement – At least one prisoner sentenced to death on charges of “murder” has been transferred to solitary confinement in Central Isfahan Prison in preparation for the execution of his sentence.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Friday, 25 July 2025, a prisoner was moved to solitary confinement ahead of execution. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Reza Mir Foroughi.
Reza Mir Foroughi, a resident of Isfahan, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “murder.” His transfer to solitary confinement is considered a strong indication that the execution is imminent.
Annual Report on Executions in Iran
According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024. Among them, six people were executed in public, and the executed also included 38 women and 9 juvenile offenders.
