Breathing in Confinement – Concerns are growing over the fate of three political prisoners who have gone missing following an Israeli airstrike.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, several days after the Israeli airstrike on the area surrounding the Evin Prison courthouse, guard station, and main entrance, serious concern has arisen over the whereabouts of three political prisoners: Ali Younesi, Arghavan Fallahi, and Motahareh Goune’i.

Ali Younesi, a gifted student and political prisoner, was forcibly taken from Ward 4 of Evin Prison on Wednesday, 19 June — ten days ago — and transferred to an unknown location. Since then, no information has been released regarding his whereabouts or his physical and mental condition.

Following the Israeli airstrike and the mass transfer of inmates to Greater Tehran Prison and other facilities around the capital, all female political prisoners held at Evin were moved to Qarchak Prison in Varamin. However, Arghavan Fallahi and Motahareh Goune’i were not among those transferred, and their location and condition remain unknown.

The lack of transparency, the disruption of communication between these prisoners and their families, and the absence of reliable information from official institutions have triggered serious concerns over the health, safety, and basic rights of these individuals.
