Breathing in Confinement – after one day of being locked up in Vozara detention center, Former political prisoner Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin County.

According to the ” Breathing in Confinement “-  news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, after one day of being locked up in Vozara detention center, on November 10, 2019, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin County.

“Breathtaking in the Confinement” quoting an informed source, reported that: since Saturday, November 9, when Golrokh Iraee was arrested by security forces storming her house, there was no information about her condition and her family’s visits to Evin Prison were remained unanswered. Today, however, they were informed that Mrs. Iraee had been transferred to Qarachak prison in Varamin.”

According to the report, Ms. Iraee was kept in Vozara detention center for one night and before being transferred to Qarchak Prison, she was returned back to her home in order to undergo a home inspection. After searching her home, security forces confiscated her personal belongings and transferred her to Qarchak Prison.

After serving her previous sentence, on April 8, 2019, Mrs. Golarkh Ebrahimi, posting bail for her new case, had been released from Evin Prison.

It is noteworthy that while in prison, because of singing anthems on the day of execution of three Kurd activists, a new case was filed against Golrokh Ebrahimi and she was charged on “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting the Supreme leader”. In the trial for her new case, Golrokh Ebrahimi was sentenced to 3 years and 7 months in prison. And the verdict was upheld in the Court of Appeals in September 2019, without any hearings and in the absence of the defendant.
