Nationwide uprising; Sara Shamsaei sentenced to 6 years in prison

Breathing in Confinement: Sara Shamsaei, one of the detained protesters in the nationwide uprising, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Sara Shamsaei was sentenced to prison. According to the verdict, issued by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Salvati, Ms. Shamsaei has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the charge of assembly and collusion, and 1 year in prison for propagandizing against the regime, and also to a two-year ban on leaving the country as well as a ban on activities on social media.
If the appeal court upholds the ruling, applying the Article 134 of the Islamic Law, the most severe punishment, i.e. 5 years of imprisonment, will be applicable to her.
Sara Shamsaei was arrested by the security forces on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in connection with nationwide protests. She is being kept in Evin prison’s Ward 209, the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence.
