Breathing in Confinement: On Wednesday night, November 3, 2021, Sahar Beheshti, her mother and her husband were arrested by security agents at their home. The arrest was made on the eve of the anniversary of Sattar Beheshti’s death, in order to prevent a memorial service for him.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Wednesday night, November 3, 2021, Sahar Beheshti, Gohar Eshghi, sister and mother of Sattar Beheshti, as well as Mostafa Eslami, Sahar’s husband, were arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location. During the arrest, the whole house of Sahar Beheshti was searched by the agents and her mobile phone as well as some of her personal belongings were confiscated.
Officers reportedly beat Mustafa Eslami during his detention.
After being arrested by FATA police on November 3, 2012, the blogger, Sattar Beheshti was killed in prison due to severe torture and beatings.
