Breathing in Confinement: On August 22, 2021, Saleh Ekrami and Babak Rezaei, two activists from Azerbaijan- Iran, were released from prison on bail, awaiting the trial. These two activists had been arrested on July 27, 2021 in the City of Nasimshahr in Tehran.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, after three weeks in detention, the civil activists, Saleh Ekrami and Babak Rezaei, were each released on a bail of 500 million Tomans, awaiting the trial. These activists were arrested by security forces on July 27 this year, at their workplace in the City of Nasimshahr in Tehran.
Concurrently with the protests in Tabriz on July 24, 2021, in support of the uprisings of the people of Khuzestan against the water crisis which began on July 15, widespread arrests of civil activists started in Tabriz and various other cities.
