Breathing in Confinement – The authorities of Khomeini Hospital in Tehran refuse to hospitalize political prisoners.
According to the reports obtained by Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran (PRLI), the Head of the Hospital and Head of the Security have ordered since almost 2 weeks ago not to accept political prisoners brought to this hospital for treatment.
An informed source told PRLI’s reporter that Khosro Sadeghniyyat, Head of the Hospital and Mr. Hosseinian, Head of the Security have given this new order.
Almost 2 weeks ago, the hospital refused to give service to Majid Asadi, political prisoner of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.
Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi, the other political prisoner in this prison was told yesterday that the hospital was not going to accept him and therefore was not transferred for medical treatment.
It is said that this decision has been made after a prisoner tried to escape from the hospital and police tried to shoot him in the hospital.
On November 5, 2018, Iraj Harirchi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health had demanded the prisoners to be admitted to military hospitals.
