Breathing in Confinement – According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least ten citizens, including four minors, were arrested by security forces following recent protests in Sedeh Lanjan.

Based on information obtained, these individuals were detained for participating in protests and were transferred to undisclosed locations after their arrest. At the time of this report, no official information has been released regarding their legal status, place of detention, specific charges, or access to legal counsel.

The identities of the detainees, all residents of Sedeh Lanjan, have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as:
Houman Bidkani, Sadegh Abdollahi, Atabak Karimi, Omid Jamali, Mohammad Amin Zamani, Mehdi Karimi, Alireza Karimi, Iman Karimi, Mehdi Mahmoudi, Mohammad Nazari, and Afshin Salahshour.

According to the report:
Houman Bidkani, Sadegh Abdollahi, Atabak Karimi, Omid Jamali, Mohammad Amin Zamani, Mehdi Karimi, and Afshin Salahshour were arrested on Friday, 2 January 2026.
and  Alireza Karimi, Iman Karimi, Mehdi Mahmoudi, and Mohammad Nazari were arrested on Saturday, 3 January 2026.

It has been confirmed that Sadegh Abdollahi, Atabak Karimi, Omid Jamali, Mohammad Amin Zamani, and Mehdi Karimi are under the age of 17.

The arrest of these citizens for participating in protests—without judicial warrants, without disclosure of their place of detention, and without access to legal counsel—constitutes a clear violation of fair trial guarantees and Iran’s international obligations, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
