Transfer of Saeed Eghbali to Ward 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison.

Breathing in Confinement: On Tuesday, April 6, the political prisoner, Saeed Eghbali, was transferred to Ward 4, Hall 10 of Rajai Shahr Prison. He had been arrested on May 31, 2020, after appearing in the Judgment Enforcement Unit of Evin Court and to serve his sentence, was transferred to Evin Prison.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, yesterday, Tuesday, April 6, the political prisoner Saeed Eghbali was transferred to ward 4, hall 10 (political hall) of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
This political prisoner was deported from Evin Prison to Rajai Shahr Prison on March 22, 2021, and since then was being kept kept in solitary confinement without any facilities.
Saeed Eghbali was arrested by intelligence agents at his home in Kermanshah on February 1, 2018, and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. Later on April 11, 2018, he was released from prison on bail of 100 million Tomans.
In September 2019, in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge Mohammad Moghiseh, this civil activist was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charge of “conspiracy to act against national security” as well as one year in prison on charge of “propaganda activities against the regime.” The verdict was later upheld by Branch 36 of Tehran Court of Appeals.
According to Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment, ie 5 years in prison, is applicable to him on charge of “conspiracy to act against national security.”
Saeed Eghbali was finally arrested on Sunday, May 31, 2020, after attending the Judgment Enforcement Unit of the Evin Court, and was transferred to Evin Prison to serve his sentence.
