Breathing in Confinement – At least three prisoners convicted of “enmity against God (moharebeh) through armed robbery” have been transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj for the implementation of their death sentences.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at least three inmates in Ghezel Hesar Prison were moved to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. Their identities have been verified by Breathing in Confinement but are being withheld.

These prisoners had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of “moharebeh through armed robbery.” In recent weeks, a number of other death-row prisoners—mostly convicted of drug-related offences—have also been transferred to solitary confinement and have not yet been returned to the general wards.
