Breathing in Confinement — The hunger strike of political prisoners under the “Tuesdays Against Execution” campaign has reached its 102nd week, spanning 55 prisons across the country.
At a time of repression and injustice, when the voices of courageous, freedom-seeking people are met not with dialogue but with bullets and imprisonment, expressing solidarity and support is not only a moral necessity but a human duty. Members of the “Tuesdays Against Execution” campaign, while honouring and commemorating those who lost their lives during the nationwide uprising, have declared their unwavering solidarity with the people. No gunfire, no arrest, no torture, and no forced confession can extinguish the flame of the struggle for justice. Without doubt, the path of this struggle will ultimately lead to the realisation of freedom, equality, and democracy for all Iranians.
Today, through a simultaneous hunger strike in 55 prisons nationwide, the “Tuesdays Against Execution” campaign is amplifying its protest and its demand for freedom and human rights, making its voice heard more loudly than ever on the global stage.
Statement by Political Prisoners
We, the members of this campaign, while extending our salutations and honouring the memory of those who lost their lives in the nationwide uprising, declare our solidarity with the brave and freedom-seeking people and affirm that we will stand alongside them to the very end. Neither the direct shooting of young people, nor the arrest of school students, nor torture and the extraction of forced confessions from protesters can silence the voice of justice-seeking. Undoubtedly, after years of oppression and tyranny, the outcome of these struggles will be the realisation of freedom, equality, and democracy for all Iranians.
