Breathing in Confinement – Eight citizens and political activists from Javanrud and Sarpol-e Zahab have been summoned to the Enforcement of Judgments office of the Kermanshah judiciary to begin serving their prison terms.

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, those summoned are: Yasin Azami (son of Aziz, 26), Moein Khodadadi (son of Osman, 35), Yasin Shahsavari (son of Mansour, 28), Farid Moradi (son of Saleh, 28), Yasin Ramazani-Zadeh (son of Mohammad, 29) — all from Javanrud — and Heyman Palani Jafi (son of Abdollah, 28), Erfan Moradi (son of Sattar, 24) and Peiman Babaei (son of Mohammad, 31) from Sarpol-e Zahab.

Based on the information received, in a joint case approximately four years ago, Branch 1 of the Kermanshah Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Navid Sahraei, convicted each of the eight on charges of “membership in groups opposed to the state” and “assembly and collusion with intent to act against national security,” sentencing each to two years and six months’ imprisonment.

After the defendants appealed, the case was reviewed by Branch 14 of the Kermanshah Court of Appeal, presided over by Judge Salman Bahonar; however, notwithstanding the arguments and evidence submitted by the defendants, the lower court’s verdict was upheld in full.

According to the summons issued by the Kermanshah Enforcement of Judgments office, these eight citizens must present themselves to the prison on Saturday, 18 October 2025, to begin serving their sentences.
