Unawareness of the condition of Sina Kamali in Adelabad prison in Shiraz

Breathing in Confinement: Sina Kamali, a Baha’i citizen who was detained by IRGC intelligence agents at his home, on June 14, 2021, is still being held in an undetermined status in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. While his family members have no information on his condition.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, despite more than a month since the arrest of Sina Kamali, a Baha’i citizen in Shiraz, he is still being held in an undetermined status.

 

“Since the time of his arrest, of Sina Kamali’s family has been unaware of his charges and has not been permitted to visit him,” said an informed source to the reporter of Breathing in Confinement. “One of Mr. Kamali’s case managers has told his family that they were not going to release him,” the source continued.

” Via a phone call on July 3, Sina Kamali informed his family that he had been transferred to Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad) among two hundred other prisoners. He was crying and seemed to be unwell. Sina informed his family that he was anxious and that he needed counselling as well as medication. He was so worried of being returned to the IRGC intelligence detention center,” the source added.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, Mr. Kamali’s relatives have delivered his medication to the prison, but they are unaware whether he received them.

 

It needs to be mentioned that Sina Kamali was arrested on June 14, 2021, at his home in Shiraz, and was initially transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center. And after 17 days, he was transferred to the general ward of Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
