Protests against the killing of Mahsa Amini; Arrest of at least 20 students in various cities

Breathing in Confinement: Over the past few days, concurrently with the protests against the killing of Mahsa Amini, a large number of citizens were arrested in various cities. In the meantime, the security forces arrested many students also.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, concurrently with the nationwide protests against the killing of Mahsa Amini, security forces arrested a large number of students.
According to the reports received by the “Breathing in Confinement”, Shiva Mousazadeh, a master’s student in dramatic literature at Tehran University of Arts, was arrested by security forces on Thursday, September 22, 2022, and taken to an unknown location.
Also, Mahsa Abdollahzadeh, Mobina Mohammadi, a student of Persian literature, Majid Emamverdi, a law student and winner of the gold medal of the Literature Olympiad, Sahand Mortazavi, a chemistry engineering student, Kamiar Sharifi, a social programming student, Mohammad Nouri, a master’s student in economics, Mahan Gachpazan Eidgahi, tthe Secretary General of Trade Union Council of University of Tehran, and psychology student, Reihane Marouf, sociology student and secretary of the union council of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Bardia Shakuri, an economics student, are among the students of Tehran University who were arrested by the security forces between Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23 and were taken to an unknown location.
In addition, Amin Touhidi, Shahou Bayazidi, Mehrdad Erandan, Behrouz Shirbeigi, a bachelor’s student in sociology, and Farhad Shoja Heydari a masters degree student in social services and the student of Allameh Tabatabaei University, were also arrested by the security forces with no information on their whereabouts.
Furthermore, Mehdi Bagherzadeh, a cinema student at Azad University in Tehran, was arrested by the security forces on Wednesday September 21. The other detained students identified by Breathing in Confinement are: Zahra Kashkaki, a student at Tarbiat Modarres University, Alireza Sabrian, a student at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mohammad Arab, a master’s student in chemistry at Noshirvani University in Babol, Ahmadreza Afshar, a graphic student at Tabriz Islamic Art University.
Also, Mohammad Valizadeh, 22, from Bukan and a physics student at Urmia University, was arrested by the security forces on Monday, September 19, 2022, and was taken to Tavriz central prison.
