Breathing in Confinement: On July 9, 2023, Zahra Saidian Jou, sister of Milad Saidian Jou, one of the victims of the 2022 nationwide uprising in Izeh, was arrested by the security forces in Tehran.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, July 9, 2023, Zahra Saidian Jou was arrested in Tehran.
According to this news, one day after her arrest, Zahra Saidian Jou informed her family about her arrest and her transfer to Evin prison. She also said that the security forces had a plan to transfer her to Izeh.
Zahra’s brother Omid Saidian Jou published this news. He wrote: “My sister was arrested yesterday at her workplace in Tehran by the security forces and taken to Evin prison.”
According to Mr. Saidian Jou, his sister was arrested because of sympathy and meeting with bereaved families of the protesters killed by the security forces during the nationwide protests in 2022.
Omid and Zahra Saidian Jou were arrested concurrently with the birthday ceremony of Milad Saidian Jou at his grave and were released after some time.
Milad Saidian Jou, 26, from Izeh, was shot dead by security agents on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, during the protests in this city.
