Uprising in the universities; At least 13 students were arrested in the last two days

Breathing in Confinement: Concurrently with the 40th day ceremony of the death of Mehsa Amini and Nika Shakrami on October 26 and 27, protests continued in most cities and universities of Iran. On October 26, on the 41st day of the nationwide uprising, protest movements continued in at least 240 places across Iran. Security forces arrested at least 12 students in two days.

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, during the protests in the last two days, at least 12 students from various universities were arrested.

These students have been identified by “Breathing in Confinement” as:

22-year-old Soheil Mohammadi, a computer science student at Rasht Azad University, was arrested by the security forces on Wednesday, October 26. He was transferred to Lakan prison in Rasht despite having been promised to be released a day later on October 27.

From Shiraz University of Medical Sciences were arrested, first year university students, Amir Mohammad Mirjalili and Hamid Reza Safari, second year student, Arash  Vadoodfam, third year student, Mohammad Mahdi Nazari, on were arrested and taken to an unknown location on October 26.

Armin Karimi, a student at Poonak Branch of Azad University, was violently arrested by the security forces on October 26, with no information about his condition.

Yaganeh Gholamhosseinzadeh, a master’s student in agricultural engineering at Bahonar University in Kerman, was arrested by the security forces on the morning of October 26.

Amir Hossein Meshkini, a third-year student of physics engineering at the University of Tehran, was arrested by the security forces on October 26 around 2:00 PM at the Faculty of Physical Education of the University of Tehran located on Amirabad Street.

Ali Ghiashipour, a second-year nursing student at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, was arrested by security forces on October 26 after leaving the university.

On Wednesday, October 26, 18-year-old Mohammadreza Talebi, a first-year painting student at Pars University of Art and Architecture from Arak, along with Natan Masih, were arrested by security forces in front of the university where they were to register.

Sajjad Sajjadpour, a 2nd year Japanese language student at Tehran University, has been missing since the morning of October 26, with no information about his whereabouts.

A still unidentified female student also has been arrested in front of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences.
