Breathing in Confinement, November 28, 2020: A 15-year-old girl hanged herself to death in the Health House of Welfare Department in Mashhad.
According to Rokna news agency, quoting Puryousef, the director general of the Welfare Department in Khorasan Razavi Province, last Thursday night, a 15-year-old girl named Sajedeh took her life in a very tragic way in a Health House in Mashhad.
Rokna quotes Nayreh Abedinzadeh, deputy prosecutor of Mashhad, as saying that the teenager hanged herself with a headscarf in the bathroom of the health center. Abedinzadeh added: “Our main question is why there was only one supervisor for a large number of girls in this center.”
According to the report, the girl’s father is in prison and her mother is an addict. She was arrested in a park by police and as per the court order, was taken to a girls’ Welfare Center.
