Breathing in Confinement: On Monday, August 29, 2022, Mojtabi Mirtahmaseb, a film director and documentary maker, was summoned to the investigation branch of Tehran’s 33rd District Prosecutor’s Office, located in Evin Prison. And after being notified of his charges, he was later released on bail.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Monday, August 29, 2022, after being interrogated at Tehran’s 33rd District Prosecutor’s Office, Mojtaba Mirtahmaseb was temporarily released on bail .
According to the report, Mojtaba Mirtahmaseb has been charged because of signing the statement “Put down your gun”.
Threatening and filing cases against the directors and documentary makers has increased in recent weeks following the release of the above mentioned statement.
Earlier, the movie directors, Mohammad Rasulof, Mostafa Al-Ahmed and Jafar Panahi, were also arrested in this regard.
Mohammad Rasulof and Mustafa Al-Ahmed were transferred to Ward 4 of Evin Prison after the interrogation,. Later on August 10, after posting bail, Mustafa Al-Ahmad was released from the prison.
