Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, June 16, 2024, at least seven rallies were held in various cities of Iran.
According to the statistics center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran “Breathing in the Confinement”, the retirees of the Social Security Organization held a protest rally in the cities of Shush, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, and Tehran.
Retired teachers also participated in the protest gathering of retirees of the Social Security Organization in Ahvaz. The retirees protested against the poor living conditions, poverty, inflation and high prices and requested for their demands be met, including the implementation of Article 96 according to the approved law. The retirees chanted slogans such as: We have heard so many lies, we will not vote anymore. The government is looting of the nation, leave the Hijab and think about us.
According to Breathing in Cofinement, on Sunday also retirees of Steel Factory in the cities of Isfahan and Ahvaz protested against the poor living conditions and the delay of in the payment of 100% of their salaries. They started a protest rally and chanted: “Workers if the Steel Factory, shout for your rights. We only heard lies, we did not see any justice.”
Concurrently, employees of East Azarbaijan province telecommunication company (first service and Shastcom) gathered inside the telecommunication building and protested against the non-payment of the years 2022 and 2023 and the non-payment of their insurance premiums.
