Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, August 18, 2024, a prisoner was executed in Tabriz Prison on “drug-related” charges.

According to “Breathing in Confinement,” the news outlet of three Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, a prisoner was executed at dawn on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Tabriz Central Prison.
The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by “Breathing in Confinement” as Abbas A’lai Aghbolagh, son of Ahmad. Mr. A’lai was arrested three years ago on charges related to “drug offenses” and had been sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official sources.

According to the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 110 prisoners have been executed in various prisons over the past month.
