Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, 15 September, at least one prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement in Kahnuj Prison in preparation for execution.
According to the Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, 15 September 2024, a prisoner in Kahnuj Prison was transferred to solitary confinement for the execution of his death sentence.
The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by the Breathing in Confinement as Yousef Ahmadi.
According to the Breathing in Confinement reporter, Yousef Ahmadi, 32 years old and from Bashagard in Hormozgan Province, was arrested 5 years ago on charges of murder. In his first two trials, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and required to pay blood money, but following an appeal by the plaintiff and his lawyer, Yousef Ahmadi was sentenced to execution (qisas).
He was transferred to solitary confinement on 15 September in preparation for the execution. According to the report, Yousef Ahmadi was tried without legal representation.
