Breathing in Confinement: The death sentence of Milad Zohrevand, one of the detainees of the nationwide uprising in 2022, has been confirmed by the Supreme Court. He was previously sentenced to death on charges of murdering an intelligence officer of the Revolutionary Guards in Malayer.

According to “Breathing in Cofinement,” the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the Judicial Media Center announced that the Supreme Court approved the death sentence for 20-year-old Milad Zohrevand, a resident of Malayer and one of the detainees of the nationwide uprising in 2022.

Milad Zohrevand has been accused of murdering an intelligence officer of the Revolutionary Guards named Ali Nazari.

In late July of this year, the Head of Hamedan Judiciary, confirming the issuance of the death sentence against this citizen, announced that his case has been referred to the Supreme Court.

In October 2022, the Public Relations of the Revolutionary Guards in Hamedan stated that the number of suspects in this case is nine. The statement mentioned that “Ali Nazari lost his life at 19:30 on October 26, during the pursuit and escape operation.” It further stated: “Among the suspects, five have been arrested, and four others have been identified and are about to be arrested.”
