Thirteen people arrested for publishing photos of the clashes between police and people in the city of Aleshtar

Breathing in Confinement: Askar Issaei, the police commander of the City of Selseleh, announced on Thursday, April 29, that 13 people had been arrested in connection with the protests of the residents in Kahman area.

On Wednesday, April 28, following protests in the area against the cutting of walnut trees, the military and police forces violently opened fire on the protesters.

The police chief of the City of Selseleh said about the Kahman incidents:

“Following a clash in one of the villages of Kahman region and the act of residents in preventing from cutting the trees as well as the enforcing of the sentence against the possession of the national lands in the region, the issue was placed on the agenda of our officers.”

Issaei added that the arrest of some other people in the village is also on the “police agenda” and that these people have already been identified.

The police chief continued  that some of the detainees are those who had posted pictures of the clashes on social media.
